  • The Uni­ver­sity of Liv­er­pool is a pre-​eminent research-​based uni­ver­sity with 27,000 stu­dents pur­su­ing over 400 pro­grammes span­ning 54 sub­ject areas.

    There are 3 fac­ul­ties, includ­ing Health and Life Sci­ences; Human­i­ties and Social Sci­ences; and Sci­ence and Engi­neer­ing. These are organ­ised into 35 depart­ments and schools.

    Turnover for 200809 was £364 mil­lion, includ­ing £130 mil­lion for research. Around 5,000 peo­ple work at the Uni­ver­sity, includ­ing nearly 1400 aca­d­e­mic and 800 research staff.

    68.8% of our stu­dents achieved a First or 2:1 from clas­si­fied degrees in 2008 and world­wide we have 155,000 alumni, liv­ing in 159 countries.

    We are mem­bers of the Rus­sell Group, an asso­ci­a­tion of 20 major research-​intensive uni­ver­si­ties of the United Kingdom.
