Institute for Finance (IFF)

  • Description
  • Everything that counts

The Institute for Finance IFF deals with everything that counts: Accounting, Auditing, Controlling, and banking and finance. Numbers must be “decision-useful”, whether in the financial management of a company or the prognosis of their development. This is our credo — in research, consulting, education and training as well as at our three locations in Basel, Brugg and Olten.

    Importance of Finance

Through the liberalization of cross-border capital movements, the importance of capital as a production factor has increased further more. Private and public companies have to cope with the requirements of the international capital markets and to adapt to increased competition.

In this environment, Finance has become a key discipline. The insights of modern financial theory facilitate the better understanding of a modern, connected economy.

The Institute for Finance IFF focuses its research, education and consulting activities on implementing the modern financial knowledge into practice. The four main areas – Accounting, Auditing, Controlling, and banking and finance – are at the core of IFF’s activities.
