Swiss Society for Financial Market Research (SGF)

  • Description
  • The Swiss Society for Financial Market Research (Schweizerische Gesellschaft für Finanzmarktforschung, SGF) was founded by Dr. Werner Rein and a group of Swiss economists in 1986. The main purpose of the society was to promote modern finance and to enhance the communication between academics and practitioners in this new and growing field, at this time.

To achieve this, the quarterly journal “Finanzmarkt und Portfolio Management” (Financial Markets and Portfolio Management) was launched. Its Editors were Dr. Martin Jetzer and Prof. Dr. Walter Wasserfallen and Prof. Dr. Heinz Zimmermann. Since April 2004 the editor is Prof. Dr. Manuel Ammann. Among the other activities of the society are irregular press talks on recent finance issues published in the journal and the annual conference.

Financial Markets and Portfolio Management (FMPM)

The journal Financial Markets and Portfolio Management invites submissions of original research articles in all areas of finance, including financial markets, portfolio choice and wealth management, asset pricing, corporate finance, corporate governance, alternative investments, risk management, and regulation. Its principal objective is to publish high-quality articles of innovative research and practical application. The readers of Financial Markets and Portfolio Management are academics and professionals in finance and economics, especially in the areas of asset management.

The journal is the official publication of the Swiss Financial Analysts Association (SFAA). Since 2005, FMPM has been published entirely in English by Springer. FMPM is indexed in EBSCO, ECONIS, EconLit, E-JEL, JEL on CD, Journal of Economic Literature, Research Papers in Economics (RePEc), and SCOPUS.
