Research at the Institute for Strategy, Technology and Organization (ISTO) focuses on the intersection between strategic management, organization and technology.
Research on the economics of technology markets deals with technology diffusion and technological change and usage intensity in international mobile communication markets. Research on strategic management in technology markets includes work on product and pricing strategies, competitive and collusive behavior and mergers and acquisitions. Projects on organization in technology markets focus on vertical integration under technological change, the fit between the strategy of a firm, its organizational structure and its technology and the influence of team and firm organization on performance.
Research at the Institute is not limited to specific research methods. Instead, a broad range of methodological tools are employed, including econometric and formal mathematical models, computer simulations and qualitative research.
The Institute has several research projects in collaboration with national and international institutions. More information about individual projects and research networks is available in our Projects- and Network sections.
