  • Our mis­sion is to pro­mote excel­lence in research into the field of cal­ci­fied tis­sues within Europe, and to ensure the find­ings are dis­sem­i­nated to enable ben­e­fit to patients with meta­bolic bone disease.

    Aims of the ECTS

    • To advance sci­en­tific knowl­edge of the struc­ture and func­tion of cal­ci­fied tis­sues and related subjects.
    • To pro­mote basic and clin­i­cal research in this field and to pub­lish and dis­sem­i­nate the results of such research.
    • To fos­ter a mul­ti­dis­ci­pli­nary approach and to stim­u­late, through meet­ings, sym­posia, study groups, lec­tures, sem­i­nars and other means, exchange of infor­ma­tion and collaboration.
    • To act as an author­i­ta­tive body for the pur­pose of con­sul­ta­tion in mat­ters of pub­lic and pro­fes­sional inter­est con­cern­ing research in cal­ci­fied tis­sues and related sub­jects in Europe.

    The Euro­pean Cal­ci­fied Tis­sue Soci­ety is a com­pany lim­ited by guar­an­tee. The Com­pany does not have shares or share­hold­ers, but instead it has its mem­bers. The day-​to-​day man­age­ment of the Soci­ety is car­ried out by the direc­tors. Prof­its that the Com­pany may gen­er­ate are used to pro­vide research grants and to sub­sidise other activ­i­ties to fur­ther the aims and mis­sion of the ECTS.

    The con­sti­tu­tion is made up of the mem­o­ran­dum and the articles.
