Tradition and Modernity: Harmony, Opposition, and Prospects for Development

  • The fast changing world makes one think about the individual and national identities, their definition, and their preservation. Tradition is one of the possibilities of the identity formation. You are kindly invited to the discussion of tradition as an identified traditional item, process, or phenomenon, boasting the history of their formation and development, their expression, and their future in the contemporary world. In scientific presentations, we invite to highlight the intersections of tradition and modernity in the fields of

    • ethnic and folklore
    • art and literature
    • culture history and religion studies.

    Working languages: Lithuanian, English, and Russian

    Presentations: The report time is 20 min., and 5 min. for discussions

    Conference Fee is 50 LT (approx. 15 EUR) per person (payment during registration).

    Please e-mail participant registration forms and presentation abstracts (up to 800 characters) before October 15, 2012. The articles, prepared on the basis of the conference presentations and meeting the requirements for a scientific article, will be published in the KU scientific journal RES HUMANITARIAE, referenced in the international database Index Copernicus.
