"Rethinking Banking and Finance: Money, Macro, and Models"
The IFABS 2012 conference is jointly organised by the Universitat de València, the Ivie (Valencian Institute for Economic Research), the Universitat Jaume I and the University of Leicester in association with the Journal of Banking and Finance, on 18-20 June, 2012 in the beautiful city of Valencia, Spain.
The aim of the conference is to provide a forum in which academics, research students, policy-makers, and practitioners with an interest in contemporary issues in banking and finance research can present and debate their state-of-the-art research, and engage in discussions and networking.
Special issue in Journal of Banking and Finance
A special issue of the Journal of Banking and Finance (JBF) on the conference theme will be published under the Guest Editorship of Meryem Duygun Fethi, Pilar Soriano, Mohamed Shaban and Emili Tortosa-Ausina. Papers submitted for this special issue will undergo the normal journal review process and the journal’s usual submission fee will apply. Authors whose papers are accepted for presentation at the conference are encouraged to submit their papers for the JBF special issue.
PhD and Young Researcher Awards
In addition to the regular sessions of academic research, the IFABS 2012 program also includes PhD Student (PhD) and Young Researcher (YR) sessions. The PhD Student (PhD) and Young Researcher (YR) researchers are eligible for the IFABS 2012 Best PhD Student Award and Best Young Researcher Award.
The first award honours the best paper presented by a PhD Student and the second award honours the best paper by a Young Researcher with less than 3 years post-PhD experience. The names of the winners will be communicated during the closing ceremony of the Conference. The prize includes an honorarium award of €1000 for the Young Researcher and €1000 for the PhD Student.
