International Conference for E-Democacy and Open Government (CeDEM Asia) 2016 South Korea

  • Fol­low­ing ten suc­cess­ful con­fer­ences in Aus­tria and two inspir­ing con­fer­ences in Sin­gaproe and Hong Kong, we are look­ing for­ward to open a new forum in Asia for exchange of ideas, net­work­ing, and col­lab­o­ra­tion. The Inter­na­tional Con­fer­ence on E-​Democracy and Open Gov­ern­ment (CeDEM) Asia 2016 will be hosted in Daegu, South Korea on Decem­ber 79, 2016.

    City Uni­ver­sity of Hong Kong, Danube Uni­ver­sity Krems, Cyber Emo­tions Research Cen­ter at Yeung­Nam Uni­ver­sity, World Asso­ci­a­tion for Triple helix and Future strat­egy stud­ies, Nam Cen­ter for Korean Stud­ies at the Uni­ver­sity of Michi­gan, and Sin­ga­pore Inter­net Research Cen­tre at the Nanyang Tech­no­log­i­cal Uni­ver­sity jointly organ­ise CeDEM Asia 2016 with an aim of bring­ing together researchers, policy-​makers, indus­try pro­fes­sion­als, and civil soci­ety activists to dis­cuss the role of social media, mobile tech­nol­ogy, open data and dig­i­tal inno­va­tion in the future of cit­i­zen­ship and gov­er­nance. The con­fer­ence allows inter­dis­ci­pli­nary per­spec­tives to ana­lyze cur­rent research, best prac­tices, and emerg­ing top­ics that are shap­ing the future of e-​government, e-​democracy and open gov­ern­ment in Asia and around the world.

    Con­fer­ence Topics

    We look for­ward to open­ing a new forum in Daegu, South Korea for exchange of ideas, net­work­ing, and col­lab­o­ra­tion on the top­ics of cit­i­zen engage­ment, e-​democracy, inter­net free­dom, open gov­ern­ment, cyber-​security, smart cities and other emerg­ing top­ics.
