The EcoChem Exhibition and Congress on Sustainable Chemistry and Engineering provides a platform to accelerate innovation, research, commercialisation and market uptake in the design, production and use of efficient, effective, safe and more environmentally benign chemical products and processes. The event launched in November 2013 to a fantastic reception from the chemical industry and its wider value chain. For 2014 visitors and delegates will be able to seize the opportunities rapidly emerging in this space, by understanding new thinking, new ways of working together, and new products and technologies. This year’s event will take place in Basel, Switzerland on November 11 – 13, 2014.
Join the EcoChem Congress to be a part of the leading large-scale, international, independent and scientifically-supported networking, learning and business meeting where the focus is on new and collaborative approaches. Consumers are demanding more environmentally friendly, and less hazardous chemicals in day-to-day products; the EcoChem Congress provides insights into new thinking, new ways of working together, new opportunities and strategies for removing barriers. no other global event brings together the world’s most influential industry and government leaders, consumer-facing and B2B brand owners, investors, scientists and innovators from across the chemical industry and value chains – making it a must attend.

3rd Global Chemical Leasing Award Ceremony
The United Nations Industrial Development Organization will be holding the Third Global Chemical Leasing Award Ceremony at Ecochem, in November this year. The award intends to further enhance the global visibility of chemical leasing by acknowledging the best practices and inspiring companies and individuals around the globe applying the chemical leasing business concept.
Chemical leasing is a‘smart’ business model, promoted by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization since 2004. It shifts the focus from increasing the sales volume of chemicals towards a value-added approach leading to a more efficient use of chemicals, thereby providing environmental and economic benefits and catalyzing innovation and strong business partnerships along the supply chain.
The award is jointly sponsored and supported by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), Austrian Federal Ministry for Agriculture, Forestry, Environment and Water Management (BMLFUW), German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Building and Nuclear Safety (BMUB), Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO), and the Swiss Federal Office for the Environment (FOEN).
Companies and individuals are invited to submit applications for the Global Chemical Leasing Award in four categories:
- Case studies (for companies)
- Consulting services
- Scientific publications
- Public relations
