The Deutsche Bundesbank Research Centre is kindly inviting you to participate and/or contribute to an International Conference on Payments and Settlement, to be held on September 9 – 10, 2015 in Eltville, Germany.
Economic analysis of payments and settlement systems has become an important topic for researchers and analysts in central banks and academia as well as, not least, for market participants around the world. The contribution made by safe and efficient payments and settlement systems as a backbone of the financial system has been widely acknowledged, especially in the light of the financial crisis.
Regulatory changes, market developments and technical improvements have resulted in numerous changes in these parts of the financial market infrastructure. In particular, the publication of the Principles for Financial Market Infrastructures (PFMIs) in 2012 created additional demand for the quantitative analysis of FMI performance and associated risks. Moreover, market developments such as the upcoming go-live of TARGET2-Securities clearly emphasise the need for a sound empirical and scientific foundation for the design of payments and settlement systems.
Papers (in English) covering the following subjects and related areas are welcome.
- Function of RTGS systems
- Risks in payments and settlement systems
- Interdependencies between different financial market infrastructures
- Crisis indicators in payments and settlement systems
- Liquidity management/intraday liquidity
- Immediate (faster) payments
- Behavioural patterns in financial market infrastructures
