    Please let us know if you would like, for instance, to organize a session, give a presentation, conduct a case analysis (provide a case for panel or audience members to discuss), offer a mini-training in some area of your work (e.g., facilitation, organizational development, health intervention, needs assessment) or take part in a poster session.

    Suggested themes for the presentation panels are:

    • Current Issues in Spain

    Please feel free to suggest a presentation, session, case analysis, or mini-training that would fit with one of these themes OR connect your proposal to a theme of your own choosing. Poster presentations can be about any topic of interest to those in clinical sociology.

    Preliminary Conference Program

    RC46 will meet on March 16, 17 and 18, 2013 in Madrid, Spain jointly with the Clinical Sociology Commission of ColPolSoc (Comisión de Sociología Clínica del ColPolSoc), Madrid’s new clinical sociology group. Our conference will begin late in the afternoon of March 16 with an introductory panel. This will be followed by a second session.

    On March 17 we will have an executive board/business meeting and this will be followed by a day of sessions. There also will be sessions all day on March 18. We hope to have a site visit and at least one social occasion as part of this conference.

    On March 19, the conference will move to a new location. It will be held at the Facultad de Ciencias Políticas y Sociología, Universidad Complutense de Madrid/Complutense University, Campus de Somosaguas, s/n. 28223 – Pozuelo de Alarcón - Madrid (about 20 minutes by bus from the ColPolSoc offices.) This day will have presentations from RC46 members and members of the Spanish clinical sociology group as well as a poster session. All activities on March 19 will be open to the public including students.

    Conference Organisation

    The organizations cooperating with the ISA’s RC46 Clinical Sociology in the development of this conference are the political science and sociology faculty of Complutense University/Facultad de Ciencias Políticas y Sociología de la Universidad Complutense de Madrid, GISOF (Grupo de Investigación Socialización y Futuro/Sociology and Future Research Group), the Madrid regional government, the Professional Association for Sociologists and Political Scientists in Spain/Ilustre Colegio de Doctores y Licenciados en Ciencias Políticas y Sociología (ColPolSoc), the Clinical Sociology Commission of ColPolSoc (Comisión de Sociología Clínica del ColPolSoc) and the Spanish Sociological Association/Federación Española de Sociología.

    The organizing committee, chaired by Tina Uys (RC46 vice president for program) and co-chaired by Lorenzo Navarrete (professor at the Complutense University in Madrid and director of the Colegio de Ciencias Políticas y Sociología de Madrid), includes Jan Marie Fritz (RC46 President), Fernando de Yzaguirre (coordinator of the new Clinical Sociology Commission of ColPolSoc in Madrid), Malena Fabregat (RC46 member from the Universidad de Alicante in Spain) and Celia Diaz (a researcher working in GISOF and ColPolSoc).

    Conference Language

    We expect that people attending the conference will understand Spanish, French and/or English. Each session may be offered primarily (or totally) in one language, but arrangements will be encouraged (e.g., overheads or handouts in another language, informal or formal translation) to allow all those attending to understand each session.

    Submission Procedure

    If you are a member of RC46, please send your proposal (or proposals) to Tina Uys, RC46 vice president for program and send a copy of your proposal to Jan Marie Fritz.

    If you are a member of the clinical sociology group in Spain, send your proposal (or proposals) to Fernando de Yzaguirre and a copy of that proposal to both Lorenzo Navarrete and Tina Uys.

    Your complete proposal – in English, French or Spanish – must have these parts:

    A. full name; B. email address; C. your title at work – e.g., professor, doctoral student, researcher, community activist, D. your country; E. your affiliation – RC46 or the clinical sociology group in Spain; E. the kind of contribution - e.g., mini-training session, poster, panel presentation – that you would like to make; F. title of your contribution; and G. abstract of no more than 150 words.
