Oxford Global Conferences are proud to present the 9th Annual Proteins & Antibodies Congress, taking place on April 18 – 19, 2016 at the Novotel London West in London, UK. Together with the 3rd Annual Oxford Global Peptides Congress 2016 and the 4th Biosimilars & Biobetters Congress 2016, the Proteins & Antibodies Congress forms part of Europe’s leading networking and learning platform for over 400 biologics experts. The conference programme consists of world-class keynote addresses and over 40 presentations which will offer crucial insights into how the biggest pharma companies are developing their biologics pipelines. Presentations will cover the most exciting advances in protein expression, purification and antibody therapeutics, with an emphasis on case studies and best practice sharing.

Agenda
Day One will explore Antibody Discovery & Engineering, and Protein Expression & Characterisation topics. New to the antibodies programme this year will be a focus on novel antibody formats and immuno-oncology. Immuno-oncology is poised to become one of the most important therapeutic areas in the antibodies field, with many large pharmaceutical companies launching major collaborations in this space this year. Our panel of expert antibodies speakers will discuss the pressing scientific and strategic concerns of immuno-oncology, including target identification strategies, overcoming safety issues, the impact of check point inhibitors and bispecifics. Our Protein Expression speakers will be exploring the latest tools for membrane protein expression and molecule design strategies to enhance developability. We will also have key academic-led presentations to update delegates about advances in protein science including folding, pathway engineering and protein modification.
Day 1 Stream 1 – Antibody Discovery & Engineering
- Moving beyond mAbs: novel bispecific formats and ADCs
- Novel ADC payloads and conjugation techniques
- Antibody pharmacokinetics (PK) and Pharmacodynamics (PD)
- New antibody discovery platforms
- Single domain and recombinant antibody tools
Day 1 Stream 2 – Protein Expression & Characterisation
- Emerging technologies for protein expression: imaging tools, nanodiscs and NMR
- Membrane proteins as key drug targets: overcoming purification and expression hurdles
- The latest updates in protein science:
- proteomics
- folding
- pathway engineering
- protein modification
- Designing the right proteins: combatting cost of goods with early stage drug design
Day Two will feature high-level discussions about the Therapeutic Applications of Antibodies, including exciting research into the application of CAR T cell receptors in cancer therapies and case studies covering the latest attempts to transport antibodies across the blood-brain barrier. In our Protein Purification stream delegates will hear about current efforts to reduce timelines and cost of goods through automated systems, cell line development and disposable equipment. Delegates will also hear about how large pharma is tackling the challenge of protein formulation and ensuring stability in pharmaceutical manufacturing.
Day 2 Stream 1 – Therapeutic Applications of Antibodies
- Novel bispecific antibodies and their therapeutic potential
- Next-generation affinity reagents: recombinant and engineered antibodies, nucleic acid aptamers
- Immuno-oncology: the latest research in targeting solid tumours
- Alternative scaffolds and novel antibody formats
Day 2 Stream 2 – Protein Purification & Downstream Processing
- Reducing protein production timelines with cell line development and novel disposable technologies
- Obtaining reference standards for therapeutic proteins
- Protein stability in pharmaceutical manufacturing:
- storage concerns
- extending ‘shelf life’
- Automation and robotics to enhance processing
Submit a poster
For attendees interested in submitting a poster, there are opportunities now available. Your poster presentation will be located in the exhibition room for two days alongside other posters from senior scientists working in industry and academia.
How to submit your abstract
We will require:
- Poster title, Abstract (200 words or less)
- Principal author, Organisation, Mailing address
- Email, Telephone, Fax
- Additional authors
In order to secure your board space a fee of £250 plus VAT will be required. The poster should be presented as A0 (841mm x 1189mm) portrait size. To take advantage of this opportunity you need to be registered as a paid delegate over the 2 days. We have limited spaces available, so please book soon!
