5th IECA Conference 2011

  • Conference Call
  • Gene Regulatory Networks in the Enterobacteriaceae

Zing-IECA 2011 will bring together experimental biologists, computational modelers, and information resource scientists (bioinformaticians) with interests in single-cell biology and the emerging field of RNA sequencing (RNA-Seq) in model bacteria.

From its inception at the 10th International Conference on Intelligent Systems for Molecular Biology that was held in Edmonton, Canada in August 2002, IECA has held four interdisciplinary workshops and four conferences that brought together experimentalists, modelers, and computational scientists to discuss different studies of model bacteria:

    IECA Workshops

    1. North Mymms, UK - November 2002: strategies for interdisciplinary research among computational biologists, experimentalists, and modelers

    2. San Diego Supercomputer Center (SDSC), US - March 2003: bioinformatics

    3. Max Planck Institute for Dynamics of Complex Technical Systems, Magdeburg, Germany - March 2003: model-driven experimentation

    4. West Lafayette, USA - April 2010: transcriptomics of model bacteria

    IECA conference

    1. Keio University Institute for Advanced Biosciences, Tsuruoka City, Japan: high-throughput experimentation and modeling

    2. Banff, Canada - June 2004: minimal genome for modeling

    3. JeJu Island, Korea - November 2006: metabolic engineering of model bacteria

    4. Hinxton, UK: experimentation, modeling, and informatics related to pathogenesis of closely related bacteria

Accordingly, Zing-IECA 2011 will be the 5th IECA conference.
