On November 30 - December 01, 2012, the Business Cycle Analysis and Survey Department of Ifo in association with Rüdiger Bachmann (RWTH Aachen University) and Eric Sims (University of Notre Dame) will organize a conference in Munich, Germany on “Macroeconomics and Survey Data”. The conference is intended to discuss ongoing research on survey and micro data and its role and usage in macroeconomics.
Papers, theoretical, empirical and policy oriented, are actively solicited on issues like (the list below is not exhaustive):
- methodology of business surveys
- uncertainty modelling
- survey data and the business cycle
- transmission of cyclical fluctuations
- forecasting performance of survey data in business-cycle research
- usage of micro-data in macroeconomics

Publication Opportunity / Conference Fees
All papers presented at the conference will appear in the CESifo Working Paper Series.
There is no registration fee for presenters or discussants. There is a fee for non-presenters of 150 €. This sum covers all-day refreshments, lunch, and the conference folder.
The deadline for submission of papers or abstracts is 15 July 2012. The paper or a 2-3 page abstract (pdf-file) should be sent via e-mail to: firstname.lastname@example.org.
E-mails should have as a subject line “Submission”, and include the title, a short abstract, and the contact information of the submitter in the main body of the text. Authors of submitted papers will be notified before 15 August 2012 whether their paper has been accepted for the conference. Preference is given to papers over abstracts.
