The Ageing, Work & Health Research Unit, Faculty of Health Sciences, The University of Sydney, is pleased to host the 12th National Emerging Researchers in Ageing Conference (ERA) in 2013 running November 25 – 26, 2013, taking place in Sydney, Australia. The ERA conference presents a unique opportunity for research higher degree students in the diverse fields relating to ageing to present their developing research.
Each year the conference draws an audience of students, academic researchers, practitioners and policy makers and ERA 2013 promises to be an exciting opportunity to network, exchange ideas and discuss the latest in ageing-related research.
The major theme of the conference, “Enabling Active Ageing”, focuses on the policy and practice implications of research. It emphasises the impact that the work of emerging researchers has on the field of ageing and the potential their research holds for influencing change.

Abstract Submission and Publication Opportunity
The guidelines for oral presentations and posters is available here. In addition to presenting at the conference, participants are invited to submit full written papers for peer review and publication in the conference proceedings. This is entirely optional but can be a useful opportunity to disseminate your research and gain experience in the peer review process etc. A copy of the guidelines for full papers will be available soon. Please note that publishing a paper in the ERA proceedings can limit your capacity to publish the same paper elsewhere so you should consider your options carefully.
The ERA initiative is pleased to offer a small number of bursaries of up to $250 each to assist current postgraduate students in ageing to attend and present at the 2013 conference. These bursaries are open to students who have an abstract accepted.
Post Conference Workshops
