The XIIth Nordic Prosody conference will be held at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) from 10 – 12 August 2016 in Trondheim, Norway. The conference focusses on the realization and function of prosody in Nordic languages and in languages spoken around the Baltic Sea. In addition to presentations by two keynote speakers, the conference offers oral as well as poster presentations, plus ample opportunity to talk to fellow researchers. It will take place on the Gløshaugen campus, at walking distance from the city centre.

The Nordic Prosody conference focusses on all aspects of prosodic research on Nordic languages and on languages spoken around the Baltic Sea. Papers are invited on both phonetic and phonological analyses of prosody including (but not limited to) topics related to the production and perception of prosody, rhythm and intonation, prosody in speech synthesis and speech recognition, the semantics and pragmatics of prosody, the acquisition and teaching of prosody in L1 and L2, and cross-linguistic comparisons of prosody.
